Building Renovation Project

This is a team project I made with 3 international students at VIA University College in Horsens, Denmark during my 7th semester as an exchange student there.

The task was to renovate a typical Danish multi-storey building from the late 60's and make it meet all the energy efficiency requirements of today. We were given a brief from a client with all the requirements and tasks. We had to simulate a real tender and make the best proposal to the client for the least price.

Semester work

1. Registration

2 weeks for registration, getting to know the building and the area, making research for the existing problems and making digital drawings of the building

2. Outline

2 weeks for elaborating the new floor plans, ideas for elevations and materials, suggestions for sustainable solutions

3. Scheme Design

6 weeks for updating the floor plans, sections and elevations, making details, building installations, estimating the cost of the project, signing contract with the client

4. Execution

5 weeks for individual work on the execution part - signing contracts with subcontractors, tender materials, specifications, plan of execution, trades
